The Australian Antarctic Data Centre includes the Mapping and GIS Program. Within this program we:
- Capture data from the field — ground or remote survey
- Store data in a spatial database/GIS
- Generate maps — on demand and as continuously updated series
- Support the Antarctic Medals and Names Committee
- Support various SCAR working groups (e.g. CAGI)
- Develop tools for use within SCAR (e.g. Gazetteer, Feature Catalogue)
